Catie Mehl is a Lamas Certified Childbirth Educator, a Bradley trained childbirth Educator, an ALACE trained Labor Assistant and the Childbirth Educator for a prominent hospital in Central Ohio as well as an educator for several other hospitals. She is also a retired La Leche League Leader Director of Birth Workers of Central Ohio and as a Doula has attended over 100 births. Catie is currently a Pre-Med major at The Ohio State University. She wants to establish a professional Birth Center in Central Ohio upon graduation. In this presentation, Catie explores how our birthing process has changed in the United States. Birth is a normal process that works well most of the time but sometimes it requires professional medical assistance. She explains the role of each medical professional and walks you through a normal birth, telling you what is suppose to happen. 41% of labor is induced by a medical provider. This is contradictory to what we as a human species are to do. New expecting parents need to know their rights and how to ask the right questions. Catie has all the facts and percentages you need to know before and during childbirth. This is an excellent follow-up presentation to her first DVD, “Having The Best Birth Possible”.
