Henry D. Remple was born in 1908 in Ukraine to a German-speaking Mennonite family. During the Russian Revolution, his family fled their village, with hopes of reaching the US. By the time Henry arrived at Ellis Island, most of his family had perished. 60 years after his immigration, Henry Remple finally began speaking out about his past, revealing a harrowing story of struggle and perseverance.
