Elephants evolved around 3-4 million years ago. Their ancestors were the woolly mammoths and dinosaurs. There are two species of elephants – the African and Asian elephant. An elephant can grow as tall as 13 feet and weigh over 15,000 lbs. They are strictly herbivores, consuming 300 lbs. of food and 40 gallons of water per day. They are the ‘True Giants of the Wild’.
