The film ‘Swatantra Veer Savarkar’ earned Rs 2.85 crores (Rs 28.5 million) in its 3rd weekend, taking the total worldwide gross to Rs 27.80 crores (Rs 278 million) so far. ‘Swatantra Veer Savarkar’ crosses ₹ 20 cr mark, the weekend numbers (Rs 2.90 cr) – especially on Sat and Sun – saw a spike.

Randeep Hooda‘s portrayal of Vinayak Damodar Savarkar in ‘Swatantra Veer Savarkar,’ where he also serves as director, has garnered massive acclaim. Despite this, the film hasn’t resonated with audiences like Article 370 and The Kerala Story. However, Swatantra Veer Savarkar has slowly been forging its way ahead.
Made on the reported budget of Rs 20 crore, the film has crossed that number over the weekend. In the first week, the film minted Rs 11.35 crore and in the second week it added Rs 6.4 crore into its kitty, taking its two week collection to Rs 17.75.

Talking about his struggle to play the character, Randeep revealed that he lost a lot of weight for the film, but the real challenge was to maintain that weight during the shooting. The actor directed the film without eating food, relying only on water, black coffee and green tea. Later, he included cheela, dark chocolate and nuts in his diet. Due to this, he started having trouble sleeping and he fell down several times on the set.
