The movie show the efforts made by a group of friends to save their lives from a mysterious masked killer.
A group of black friends decides to go to a cabin to celebrate Juneteenth. Its is a federal holiday to celebrate the National Independence Day of the United States of America.
They arrive at cabin and starts to explore it. The cabin is located at the woods and gives a natural and cosy vibes. When they explores the basement of the cabin, they finds a board game called The Blackening.
The board game features a racist caricature of Little Black Sambo. A friends gets amused by the games and its settings. Suddenly the lights of the cabin go out and a mysterious voice start to command the black friends to play the games.
The game have very simple rules. The group of friends have to answer the question which are put up on the board game. If the fails to give correct answer one of them will get killed. And if tries to escape from the cabin then also they will get killed.
Now there is one option left for the friends is to play the game and answer every answer correctly. But does they know the right answer of each question?
