Small-time criminal Lee Egan (Timothy Hutton) wants out of the city but to start a new life he must carry out one last heist. He plots an elaborate jewellery robbery in Palm Springs and asks his elder brother Roy (Keitel) to help him. Roy is also a thief but, unlike Lee, he has blended almost invisibly into the remote Midwest. However, blood is thicker than water and Roy gives in to his brother’s emotional plea and agrees to help him. Lee recruits Jorge Montana (Wade Dominguez), a well-meaning guy with a wife and family on probation who is probably on his way back to jail. More disturbing for Roy is the ‘wheelman’ Lee has lined up – the unpredictable Skip Kovich (Stephen Dorff). The plans for the heist give Skip a taste for crime and he suggests that if this one is successful they should plan another. Roy doesn’t share his enthusiasm: he is instinctively sceptical of strangers and when it comes to Skip he doesn’t trust him at all. When Lee is murdered, Roy is determined to exercise his vicious revenge on the man who betrayed him and avenge his death., When jewel thief Roy Egan is violently double-crossed during a heist, he embarks on a mission of vengeance. The gritty action film also stars Timothy Hutton and Stephen Dorff and features early screen appearances by Lucy Liu and Famke Janssen., When a robbery goes wrong thanks to double-crossing gang newcomer Stephen Dorff, honour demands leader Harvey Keitel (whose brother is among the dead) seeks revenge.
