Diljit Dosanjh: Accused Of Not Paying Dancers For His Dil-Luminati Tour

Diljit Dosanjh is accused of not paying dancers for his Dil-Luminati tour; the singer’s Bhangra team reacts.

Diljit Dosanjh has found 2024 to be a fascinating year. The actor-singer garnered widespread praise for his portrayal in Imtiaz Ali’s Amar Singh Chamkila. The Netflix film also features Parineeti Chopra in the major role. Furthermore, Diljit Dosanjh has gone on various national and international tours. He is now touring Canada in support of his Dil-Luminati shows. The singer’s gig fills up quickly. Amidst all of this, LA entrepreneur Rajat Batta has charged the artist of nonpayment.

Rajat Batta took to Instagram to share a lengthy message in which he stated that Diljit Dosanjh did not pay the Desi dancers who danced in the background throughout the event. In the message he left, Batta said, “All of the Desi dancers on Diljit’s Dil-Luminati Tour were not paid and were just expected to perform for free.” Rajat was quite upset to see someone as skilled as Diljit take advantage of the Desi Dancer industry. He stated that, while everyone is pleased with Diljit’s achievement, it is unacceptable that his dancers were not compensated and were not included in the production budget. Rajat stated that Desi Dance has become a lifeblood for artists and plays an important role in the industry’s ecosystem.

Following Rajat Batta‘s post, a few dancers expressed their gratitude to be performing for Diljit Dosanjh at the Dil-Luminati concert. Preet Chahal stated that from the first contact to the final performance, the Good News actor and his staff treated them with utmost respect and professionalism. He stated that the experience was a huge celebration of their hard work, resulting in global recognition and immense pride. Preet further remarked that the love they received from Diljit is something they will always treasure.

Preet stated that, for him and others, performing with Diljit Dosanjh was a memorable experience. Being on a global stage with him for the concert allowed them to promote their Punjabi culture, while we showcased our Punjabi culture. “His extraordinary achievements in selling out multiple arenas and stadiums have placed Punjabis firmly on the map, creating opportunities that once seemed beyond reach,” the candidate said.

Diljit Dosanjh has not reacted to any of the claims. Fans are also waiting for the Udta Punjab actor to speak out on the issue.
