Prabhas‘ latest film, “Kalki 2898 AD,” continues to dominate the box office, now standing just Rs 56 crore shy of surpassing Shah Rukh Khan‘s “Jawan.” On its 19th day, the movie amassed an impressive Rs 12.5 crore, bringing its total domestic collection to approximately Rs 587.5 crore.
Directed by Nag Ashwin and featuring an ensemble cast including Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, and Kamal Haasan, “Kalki 2898 AD” has consistently performed well since its release. The film collected Rs 543.35 crore nett in its first 15 days, surpassing the lifetime collection of SRK’s “Pathaan” in India.
The movie’s strong performance in the Telugu market has been a significant factor, with Rs 253.75 crore nett from the region. The Hindi market also contributed significantly, adding Rs 232.9 crore nett to the overall business.
While “Kalki 2898 AD” continues its successful run, it now faces competition from Kamal Haasan’s “Indian 2” and Akshay Kumar’s “Sarfira,” both of which have recently hit the screens. Despite this, the Prabhas-starrer has shown resilience, outpacing “Indian 2” on its third Monday.
As “Kalki 2898 AD” edges closer to overtaking “Jawan,” which collected Rs 640.25 crore in its lifetime run, industry analysts are keenly watching to see if it can maintain its momentum amid the new releases. The film’s worldwide gross has already crossed the Rs 1000 crore mark, cementing its status as one of the biggest hits of the year.
With its current trajectory, “Kalki 2898 AD” is poised to become one of the top-grossing Indian films, further solidifying Prabhas’ standing as a leading star in the industry.
