Omar Lulu has denied all the allegations
Malayalam filmmaker Omar Lulu is facing serious allegations of sexual assault, filed by a female actor who has worked with him in the past. The actor has accused Lulu of drugging and raping her multiple times between January and April 2024 under the pretense of offering her roles in his films and promising marriage.

The actor filed the complaint with the Ernakulam Rural Police, who have since registered an FIR against Lulu under Section 376 of the Indian Penal Code, which deals with the punishment for rape. The police have launched an investigation into the allegations, and Lulu has been granted interim bail by the Kerala High Court, pending further hearings.

Omar Lulu has denied all the allegations, claiming that the accusations are part of an attempt to extort money from him. He stated that although he and the complainant were friends and had traveled together, they have not been in contact for several months due to a fallout in their relationship.

As the case progresses, Lulu has been directed not to intimidate witnesses, tamper with evidence, or leave Kerala without the court’s permission. The next hearing is scheduled for early June.
This incident has garnered significant media attention, partly due to Lulu’s notoriety for his films, which often spark controversy for their content. The case highlights ongoing issues within the entertainment industry regarding sexual misconduct and the dynamics of power and exploitation.
