This story highlights Divyanka Tripathi’s determination
On World Bicycle Day, actor Divyanka Tripathi Dahiya reflects on her childhood experiences with cycling, sharing how they kindled a lifelong passion for wheels that ultimately led her to motorcycles.

A Childhood Adventure on Wheels
Divyanka‘s love for riding began in her childhood when she first learned to cycle. She recalls, “I learnt cycling in 3rd standard on the hilly slopes of Bhopal. It was all trial and error for me and my cousin. The first time I achieved my balance, I was so amazed that in ecstasy I fell and hurt myself. That’s when I got my first life lesson from my parents that ‘girte hain sher sawar hi maidan-e-jung mein’.” This experience not only taught her perseverance but also instilled in her a love for adventure.

Sweet Memories of Summer Holidays
Some of Divyanka‘s fondest memories are from her school summer holidays, filled with cycling escapades. She would often ride down to her father’s medical store to assist him.

She said, “My best memories are from the school summer holidays when I used to cycle down to my papa’s medical store to assist him. On one hand, I used to get praise from his friends for helping him out, and on the other hand, I would sneakily swipe off my favourite chocolates from the shelf,” she recalls with a laugh. Although her sneaky habits were eventually discovered, the lessons she learned during these times stayed with her.

Challenges and Triumphs
Divyanka‘s cycling adventures did not end with her childhood. She recounts an incident from her adulthood that tested her endurance. “Once I was cycling back home from a shoot location. A patch of steep ascending road became too difficult for me to continue but before I could stop and catch a breath, a few admirers on scooters and cars spotted me. To avoid a jam, I continued pedaling with a polite smile while my legs were begging for a break. That day on reaching home, when I could barely walk with spasmed thighs, I felt like an achiever for very odd reasons,” she shares. This story highlights her determination and ability to push through discomfort to achieve her goals.

From Bicycles to Motorbikes
Divyanka credits her early cycling experiences for paving the way to her passion for motorbikes. “Thanks to cycling, I am a passionate motorbike rider today. My teenage cycling adventures helped me switch to a gear-less bike during my college years and that eventually gave me the courage to learn motorcycle riding last year,” she explains. Her journey from bicycles to motorbikes is a testament to how early experiences can shape and inspire future pursuits.
